Last week the staff of the CBCS enjoyed 3 days of highly interactive training sessions on “Virtual Assets from a Regulatory Perspective”. Subjects such as the taxonomy of Fintech, Suptech, Blockchains, DeFi, CeFi, Tokenization, the FTX collapse, VASPs, the Travel Rule and the impact for financial regulators, to name a few, were all delved into by Mr. Olivier Rikken and Mr. Werner Bijkerk. The session was well received with feedback such as “That was a very thorough overview of all that is happening around virtual assets. Fantastic training!” and “It was great receiving such excellent training from Mr. Olivier Rikken and Mr. Werner Bijkerk".#fintech #suptech #regtech #blockchain #DeFi #CeFi #tokenization #financialregulators #virtualassets #amlcft #fatf #amlcompliance

Thank you BCBS for this opportunity. It was splendidly organized by Elly Moesquit. Thanks for that, Elly! Looking at the exam results and interaction during the sessions, the training had a very positive impact on knowledge! We are looking forward to continue to support the capacitation of the staff on these very important matters.

Recently, the CBCS reached a significant milestone concerning the Caribbean guilder: the printing of the first new banknotes. A designated team of the CBCS visited the printing facility in Malta where they saw the Cg10 and Cg20 roll off the presses. During the visit, the CBCS executives also signed off on the approval of the Cg200 test note, completing the approval of all designs and initiating the production of all notes. In August, the designs of the banknotes and coins will be presented to the public, and shortly thereafter, the notes and coins will be made available to relevant stakeholders, such as commercial banks, for the testing phase. For the complete press release, click on the link below: https://lnkd.in/epYsGUNJ#cbcs #centralebankvancuracaoenstmaarten #xcg #caribbeanguilder #milestone #cranecurrency #comingsoon
