Characters in-game must pose more of an obstacle when Ayano has the most leverage. During the times when all students are in class learning and not present in the halls, Ayano has free range of stealth. To present more difficulty, two additional faculty members would be responsible for making announcements for the day, ensuring that students find their class/make it to class, and observing the school for strange activities or behavior. They have a convenient way of doing this, as well.
About the characters
These specific faculty members are very tech-savvy (intuitive as well) and have heard about Akademi’s stained reputation regarding the late 1980s incident of a murderer in the school. They are certified in their work in Robotics, Information Technology, and Engineering (Insert fictional college/university here) They are VERY attentive to details, and they are also alert in dangerous circumstances. All this can be accredited to their upbringings. One grew up in a nuclear family, and their parents were into tech as well, but far too invested in their work lives. Equipment was left for the character to make use of. The other technician grew up with only their father but had plenty of love in their household. They were supported through any and everything, but technology just happened to be something they had a knack for. During both characters’ childhoods, they had a lot of time on their hands, paying mind to any and everything.
The Role of the Tech-Savvy Faculty Member
They have proposed to the headmaster a plan for robotic ground drones that observe the school when students, faculty, and student council members aren’t around. The headmaster is hesitant and is worried about how the freedom of students at school will be affected due to some “past troubles”. He is partially won over when the characters propose that they will only be active to quote “When students are not”. This means that following situations (such as) where students have transitioned to class or are leaving in droves for the day, the robots will be deployed. The headmaster likes this idea and makes them members of the school faculty. The headmaster alerts the faculty, and student council, who are in a mix of emotions over the newcomers. They may feel like they’ll be replaced. The headmaster is also slightly distrustful of the newcomers’ intentions. If these characters’ so-called protection of the school falls short, (The player successfully murders a student with no trace or evidence, especially a student council member, or continuous acts of in-school mischief are not supervised) they will be terminated from their positions, no questions asked. their robots will also be removed, and replaced with suitable school protocol following a student’s murder. This was a part of their agreement before the technicians were accepted for their positions. The player can find a way to take advantage of this if they wish to remove them early on.
About the bots
The newcomer techies will explain the following in a meeting with faculty, student council, and (maybe) students as well.
These drones are reasonably sized, their height meets with the player’s knee. They are proportionately widened out as well. They have tracks that allow them to climb stairs. Before deployment, they will be seen charging in the school’s announcement room. They have exceptional sight, hearing, and durability.
The robotic ground drones have cameras hooked up to the announcement room’s TV panels. These cameras have a much longer range of sight than a human, and they can zoom in on a potential threat. One of these bad boys can see down an entire school hallway from wall to wall. All the while, they rotate and are capable of seeing forward, left, right, and behind themselves as well. Unlike student council members, the robot will not be sidetracked from its original duties. If it catches anything suspicious while returning an item or reporting another strange occurrence, it will not miss a beat. After the problem has been solved It will then complete its route as usual. The drones are also equipped to pick up on any sound they hear. If the player is walking/running, her footsteps will prompt the drone to stop in place and turn around. If she throws an item, the drone will focus on where it believes the item was heard. The drone will go back to investigate any matters it finds suspicious, it will then complete its usual route around that specific section of the school.
Communication
If the robots catch the player, or any student in the hallways after class is in session, a computer message generated by the technicians will ask the student what they are doing in the hallways. If no sensible answer is given the drone will warn the player/student to go to class. If the player/student is caught 2 more times, their detailed absence will be reported to the technicians, who can take it up with the faculty supporting the student. This will be seen as annoying to some council members, and it will eventually be reported in a meeting following the first week of school. The technicians will also be overwhelmed with glitches in the system and bombarding messages from the drone. They’ll be left with no other choice than to remove the text-to-speech feature on the drone later on.

Drone Concept (Not mine!)
Sections of the school
The drones will take the places of not-present student council members, completing their routes with a twist. A single drone is assigned to each floor (There is a single drone assigned for the rooftop as well, they will check behind the fans too.) A single drone is assigned to observe the outdoor areas of the school. In total, there are 5 drones the player has to deal with. Wherever the drone is assigned, it will move quickly and orderly to ensure each nook and cranny of the section it’s assigned to is examined (for school floors this includes rooms, closets, etc. For outdoors small rooms such as the boiler room under the swimming pool, the “tranquilizing” room in the gym, and the greenhouse will be investigated. This will make up for seemingly hidden incriminating evidence being found at the end of the day.
Actions Taken (PLAYER)
CAUGHT GAME OVER
If the player is spotted committing an act of murder, cleaning up blood near a corpse, bloody near a corpse, wielding a bloody weapon near a corpse, or picking up a corpse, the drone will immediately capture a picture of it, sending it to the observing technicians in the announcement room. They will also report this to the authorities, resulting in an instant game-over. CAUGHT will appear on the screen in red.
NO GAME OVER, WARNING INSTEAD
If the player is spotted alone bloodied or bruised, wielding a suspicious item, bloody weapon, or dangerous weapon, they are fighting, or they are showing any kind of suspicious behavior the camera will record/ take note of this behavior, and unless deleted by the player, it will be taken for future reference, in case of police questioning. Of course, if there is no incriminating evidence found, the player will be free to leave. The neutral message above the screen will read ‘Suspicious behavior captured. Saved for future reference.’
Deactivation/Sabotage
Neither technician will respond to annoying sounds, fart bombs, or smoke bombs. They deem themselves as far too professional for such a thing.
Deactivating each drone will prove to be a weighted process, depending on how the player would like to go about it. The camera is protected by a thick lens, which cannot be struck and broken easily. (By the time the player is done breaking the drone, she will be caught.) The player will have to dismantle the cameras another way, by going into the Announcement room and doing as she did previously. The only problem is it’s not as easy. Not only will you have to worry about the third-floor drone, but These faculty members are highly alert, and will resort to the following:
They will warn the player that they’re aware of the breach without even looking their way.
They will warn the player not to get any closer.
One will shoot the player with a stun gun, similar to the headmaster, in an act of self-defense.
With a keycard and some strength, (Physical level 1) the player will be able to lift all 20lbs drones off their charging stations without the technicians’ knowledge. Again, they CANNOT be in the room. You will be sent to the guidance counselor. If you are successful, the Technicians will spend the next 2 hours re-charging the drones when they come back. The technicians do not like sending the drones out on any battery that is not full. (Drones will be gone for that period)
The technicians have their lunch in the announcement room as well, the player will need to wait until one member leaves for a restroom break. This character likes to stay hydrated, and they will have 3 bathroom breaks each day. They will dismantle any forms of sabotage, including water traps. The other technician has a dream of having their podcast one day. While their partner-in-crime is gone, they will be heard listening to a podcast at full volume for the same 3 times a day. They also have quick reflexes (If you want to get close to them.) The player will only have a few (efficient) in-game minutes to make their move. If the player attempts to assassinate either technician, they will not hesitate to defend themselves. If the player is caught tampering with equipment after the podcast is turned off, they will be walked to the guidance counselor.
Faculty Keycard repurposed
The faculty keycard is not only needed to operate the announcement room equipment but it’s also needed to enter faculty rooms as well. This means that the faculty room, student council room, and announcements room will be keycard-operated. During a planning period, the player is better off leaving the faculty room alone. She will be able to obtain a keycard by stealing it from a staff member or having Info-chan create one for her. (for however many info points.) The player may also be able to “jam” the system to where it accepts fraudulent input.
Info Chan
The Technicians follow a very specific script system. Info-Chan will eventually be able to crack it, but the process will take the whole next day. When she does, she will notify the player immediately when they wake up after a day passes. The technicians will be aware of the system breach, and the day after that same day, the number of days it takes Info-Chan to crack it will be increased by 1, as they will make it more difficult each time.
