The Amherst Exempted Village School District is recognized as a leader in developing best practices in promoting healthy school nutrition and its important connection to learning. Children and young adults need a nutritious breakfast and lunch every day to be successful learners and have the energy to participate in school activities. The Nutrition Services Department is committed to providing nutritious school meals and educating our children with life-long healthy eating habits. Information

REMINDER: Please make sure your child has money in their account before going through the breakfast and/or lunch lines. Acceptable payments include cash, check (made payable to "Amherst Nutrition Services"), or online using Pay Schools Central.

SCHOOL BREAKFAST INCLUDES: MAIN ENTREE, FRUIT AND MILK
  • K-5th: $1.85 (no cost for those that qualify for reduced-price or free meals)
  • 6th-12th: $2.35 (no cost for those that qualify for reduced-price or free meals)
SCHOOL LUNCH INCLUDES: MAIN ENTREE, FRUIT, VEGETABLE AND MILK
  • K-5th: $3.35 (no cost for those that qualify for reduced-price or free meals)
  • 6th-12th: $3.60 (no cost for those that qualify for reduced-price or free meals)

REMINDER: Cash and check payments are accepted at school. Elementary students should have money in an envelope with the student's name written on it. Lunch money should be turned in to the teacher or given to the cashier. To keep lines moving, we do not give change back. Any surplus money will be added to a student's account for future purchases.

If your student is graduated and has a positive balance in their PaySchools account, there are 3 options for you:

1) Transfer the balance to a sibling, relative or other student of your choice

2) Donate the balance to an account for students who do not have money to purchase breakfast or lunch

3) Receive a refund

PaySchools Central is a secure payment system which simplifies school payments in an easy-to-use online portal. It enables parents to fund lunch accounts and pay required and optional fees online quickly and easily. PaySchools Central also allows parents to opt into and manage email reminders about their student’s accounts, so it’s easy to remember to replenish lunch accounts or pay for that upcoming field trip.PaySchools Central can be accessed via our online portal: www.payschoolscentral.com, or via convenient mobile app.

  • Parents can opt in to receive email notifications when a student account balance falls below a threshold set by the parent

  • Student information is automatically transferred from year to year and even from school to school
  • Parents can manage accounts for multiple students with a single login
  • Parents can manage payments via an easy-to-use online portal, or while on the go with a convenient mobile app
  • PaySchools is PCI compliant and maintains industry standard SSL certificates. This ensures all data is safe and secure

Important Fees
School Feespaid online will incur a convenience fee. The ACH fee per transaction when using an electronic check is$1.75. When using a debit or credit card this transaction fee is4.5%.

$0.00 - $24.99 = $1.65

$25.00 - $49.99 = $2.00

Food Service Programs

Summer Food Service Program

All children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites. Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals.

Deanne Kelbleyis the NutritionServices Supervisor in the Amherst Exempted Village School District and is a registered, licensed dietitian. Deanne was the Food Service Supervisor in the Beachwood City School District for five years and then came to us after working in the Revere Local School District for eight years. She also is the Public Policy and Legislative Chair for the School Nutrition Association of Ohio Board. Deanne received her undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock University, majoring in Community Health. Soon after graduation, she realized she wanted to become a Dietitian. She was a member of the University of Akron's Coordinated Program in Dietetics, finishing her Dietetic requirements in three years.
